KATE Preston Hair & Beauty is hoping to prove that it is a cut above the rest in a national competition.

The salon, in Arundel Drive, Fareham, is up for Salon of the Year in The English Hair & Beauty Awards.

Entrants are chosen by the public and finalists from across England have been invited to attend the glamorous ceremony at The Athena Leicester Hotel on Sunday, where the winners will be announced.

Kate said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be a finalist at such prestigious awards and can’t wait for the ceremony. We would like to thank all of our loyal and lovely guests who have voted for us and left us some fantastic reviews, we appreciate you all so much.’

The salon was short-listed for Small Business of the Year in the Business Excellence Awards, run by The News, earlier this year.

Kate Preston, who has run the salon for the past 11 years, was also given the Lifetime Achievement award in The News’ Hair and Beauty Awards last year.

This is the third year the salon has made the shortlist for The English Hair & Beauty Awards.
