TRADE retailer Screwfix will hold the official opening of its first store in Havant next month.

The new branch in Solent Road will create an additional 18 jobs.

Screwfix’s new Havant store manager Nick Emms says he is proud of the contribution the new store has made to employment figures in the region.

‘We’ve created 18 vacancies and have employed local people from around the Havant area,’ he said.

‘Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.

‘Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.’

Tradesmen and DIYers are all invited to attend the Havant Screwfix opening on November 6, where they can also demonstrate their skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The fastest time wins a television.

‘I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here in Havant,’ added Mr Emms.

‘My team and I have already been out and about getting to know businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.’
