AN affordable housing developer based in Segensworth has been asked to get involved with a £4bn housing project.

Lovell has been appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency to its second panel of housebuilders, which will compete to build houses throughout England, excluding London.

Developers appointed were chosen because of their ability to build housing on public sector land in the current market.

The firm’s managing director Stewart Davenport said: ‘Our success in gaining a place on all four panel regions recognises the company’s solid track record of working with our partners to deliver the high-quality, new affordable homes needed in communities.

‘We’re delighted to be continuing to use that expertise working with the HCA, housing associations and local authorities to bring forward new housing development.’
