THE Skills Show on the Road will arrive in Portsmouth today to inspire young people about the world of work.

A kitted-out coach has been travelling the country and will be in Commercial Road between 11am to 3pm.

Visitors will be invited on board the coach to take the Skills Challenge, a range of ‘have a go’ experiences that will help them find out what things they are good at and enjoy.

Gail Cohen, director of marketing, content and commercial development for Find a Future, the team behind The Skills Show events, said: ‘We are hugely excited about The Skills Show on the Road.

‘This unique experience will allow young people to learn about the opportunities that vocational training and skills can offer and will inspire and inform the choices that they make about their futures.

‘The ‘My Self, My Future’ stage outside the coach will be a brilliant way for young people to showcase their talent and is sure to draw the crowds.’

‘The Skills Show on the Road coach, developed with National Express, will be parked in Commercial Road and
has been fitted with a range of
activities.

‘They will include visual merchandising, confectionery making and engineering plus literacy and numeracy skills challenges, which will enable young people to gain a hands-on understanding of the skills and careers they are good at.’
