AWARD-WINNING soap maker Southsea Bathing Hut is moving into a new base.

The business, which celebrates its second birthday in April and was named Retailer of the Year at The News Business Excellence Awards earlier this year, began on a kitchen table in Southsea.

It is now moving into a light industrial unit at the Portsmouth Enterprise Centre, in Quartremaine Road.

Director Samantha Worsey said: ‘Bringing production, storage and management into one place will make a huge difference. Most importantly, having this unit will enable us to expand what we offer.

‘We’ll be able to explore opportunities to trade nationally and internationally and open a skincare laboratory, to develop new products.

‘This is a business that wants to put Portsmouth on the map as a home for exciting, ethical and original home-grown products. This new place is just the start.’
