A firm of solicitors with offices in Portsmouth have been nominated in two categories of The Law Society Awards 2015.

Bernard Chill & Axtell are up for the Excellence in Marketing & Communications award as well as the Excellence in Pro Bono Work category.

The firm, which also has offices in Southampton, Lymington, Eastleigh, Basingstoke and in Aldershot, has one of the largest criminal defence teams in Hampshire and has recently been awarded Government Duty Crime Contracts for Thames Valley and also Dorset.

The finalists for the Law Society Excellence Awards 2015 are selected by a panel of senior industry experts, reveal a breadth of talent throughout the profession in England and Wales, from small local practices and in-house teams, to large City firms.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 4 Today and BBC News presenter Mishal Husain at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London, tonight.

Bernard Chill & Axtel’s nomination in the marketing and communications category follows a huge re-vamp of the firm’s website, including all marketing, advertising and social media over the last six months under the guidance of new Head of Marketing Nick Clack.

The Pro Bono Work category nomination cites the firm’s immigration specialists running a monthly radio show on a community station Unity 101 Radio in Southampton and weekly advice pages in local publications and offering free legal information through blogs.
