A FAREHAM company has been detected as a winner.

Raymarine has won the international award, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award for Electronics at the Miami International Boat Show.

The firm won the award for its new Dragonfly GPS-Sonar, which was selected for the award by a panel of leading marine-industry writers.

Chris Jones, Raymarine’s director of product management, said: ‘The whole company is delighted with the news from Miami International Boat Show that we won the NMMA Innovation award for our new Dragonfly GPS show.

‘In a short period of time Raymarine has not only brought high-dollar fishing power to low-dollar budgets, but has enhanced the capabilities.

‘We’re taking that as testament to the excellent research and development work carried out by our in-house teams.’
