A HOTEL has won two coveted European awards.

The Clarence, on Clarence Road, in Southsea, has won two Trip Advisor European Travellers Choice Awards for 2014.

The annual awards are based on individual reviews of all guests and The Clarence has won this accolade for the four out of five years since opening in 2008.

It was also voted number seven out of the whole UK for the Top 10 Small Hotels.

Mark Brunning, owner, said: ‘We are pleased and proud to have won these awards again as not just the top hotel in Portsmouth and Hampshire but the seventh best in the United Kingdom.

‘We will continue to work hard to ensure we maintain the excellent service and facilities for our guests who stay with us in each of our eight unique rooms at affordable prices. These awards are a vindication for all the efforts of our staff.’
