GUESTS at the Hilton hotel in Farlington will be using their small change to make a big difference to disadvantaged children over the coming months.

It is part of Hilton in the Community Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign in the UK.

The Small Change, Big Difference project will run in Portsmouth throughout October, November and December.

The campaign invites hotel guests staying at selected Hilton Worldwide hotels to add an optional £1 on to the room bill during their stay.

It has already raised nearly £1million for children’s charities since its inception in 2004.

Terence Beach, who is general manager of Hilton Portsmouth, said: ‘It’s amazing to see that such a simple idea has already raised so much to help Hilton in the Community Foundation ensure that disadvantaged children receive the support that they need.’

The money raised has been spent on grants to projects in the wider Portsmouth area, including Friends of Mary Rose School and Over the Wall.
