A NEW series of watches celebrating the 35th America’s Cup is being launched.

Watchmaker Bremont has produced a special edition series of timepieces to celebrate its partnership with the 35th America’s Cup and Oracle Team USA.

The company is the first official British timing partner to the America’s Cup since 1851.

Giles English, Bremont co-founder, said: ‘Bremont is incredibly proud to be involved in such a historical event, not least of all to be the only watch company allowed to build a watch associated with the 35th America’s Cup and Oracle Team USA.

‘The America’s Cup is possibly the only team extreme sport out there.

‘These boats are built using pioneering technology which makes the race more exhilarating to watch with each Cup.

‘We’re excited to see these new watches be put through their paces on the water. They will certainly be tested beyond endurance.’

The company’s new America’s Cup watch series includes two special edition watches, the Bremont AC I and AC II.

These models were inspired by the legendry J-Class yachts of the 1930s.

All of the watches are built in the UK using the highest quality components.

In partnering with Oracle Team
USA, the current defenders of the America’s Cup, Bremont has also produced a collection of Oracle Team sailing watches.

The build-up to the 35th America’s Cup is well underway with the event scheduled for July 23 to 26.

The event includes the preliminary race series of the 35th America’s Cup, consisting of eight to 10 regattas taking place around the world during 2015 and 2016.
