ENTREPRENEUR Sara Pollard has reached the final of an award set up to recognise women.

Miss Pollard, of Trinity Street, Fareham set up her business Free From Temptation in 2012.

She provides a range of cakes for different dietary requirements including gluten and dairy-free.

Miss Pollard, 26, said: ‘There is such a restricted range of products for people with common intolerances.

‘I wanted to see if I could make something that tasted just as good as normal cake.’

The Venus Awards, which are held in Portsmouth, recognise work done by women in the local area.

There are a range of awards that people can be voted and nominated for.

Miss Pollard said: ‘It’s very daunting, I never expected to have anything like this happen to me.

‘To get all of this recognition is really touching, it was never my aim.’

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, October 1, at a ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Portsmouth.
