THE iconic Spinnaker Tower has been named by The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2012-2013 as one of the finalists for the Best Large Attraction award.

Since it opened in 2005, the tower has hosted more than two million visitors, offering them 350° panoramic views reaching up to 23 miles over the Solent.

Sarah Webb, general manager for Spinnaker Tower, said: ‘I’m delighted that Spinnaker Tower has been chosen as a finalist for this prestigious award.

‘Around 97 per cent of our visitors say that they would recommend a trip to their friends, which shows just how fantastic this attraction is and is testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented team.’

The awards are run by Tourism South East and Services 4 Tourism.

Those shortlisted will find out if they’ve been lucky enough to be crowned winners at a special ‘evening of celebration’ on November 28.

The awards evening will be hosted by Tourism South East, with Heart FM presenter Toby Anstis handing out the gongs to the lucky businesses and organisations.
