THE Spinnaker Tower has been short-listed as one of the best tourist attractions in the country.

The 170m tower – which is the tallest viewing structure in the country – in Gunwharf Quays, has been named by the British Travel Awards (BTAs) in the Best UK Leisure Attraction category.

General manager Sarah Webb said: ‘I’m delighted Spinnaker Tower has been short-listed for this prestigious award.

‘Around 97 per cent of our visitors say they would recommend a trip to their friends, which shows just how fantastic this attraction is and is testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented team.’

The winners will be announced at an awards night, which takes place on November 1, in London.
