BUSINESSES are being asked to make sure their employees know their firm’s postcode so they can enter it in the 2011 census questionnaire.

The Office for National Statistics, which has its base at the Solent Business Park in Segensworth, says the workplace postcode will feed into the overall picture of life in the UK when it conducts its census in March.

Pete Benton, deputy 2011 census director, said: ‘While the internet makes it easier to look it up, not everyone has access to the web so we are asking all employers to make sure that their staff have the right information to enable them to complete this section of the questionnaire.’
