THREE local charities will receive a funding boost when the new Tesco store opens in Fareham.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright and the Mayoress, Ruth Cartwright, will be guests of honour when the supermarket is launched on Monday, November 28.

Store manager Jon Roberts will present the mayor with a £1,000 donation which will go towards the mayor’s charities – the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Toe in the Water and the Warsash Wasps sports and football club.

Cllr Cartwright will then cut a ribbon to declare the store open.

Customers will be invited to join in the celebrations with complimentary cake, champagne and orange juice.

Mr Roberts said: ‘We wanted to contribute to the mayor’s charitable fund to help three charities which do fantastic work in the community.’
