PLANNED strike action has led to HMRC extending its online tax deadline.

The PCS Union is planning strikes at call centres and inquiry offices today, which is the original deadline for online self-assessment tax returns.

HMRC has announced that no fines will be handed out to anyone who submits their tax return online in the first two days of February.
