BUSINESS students at the University of Portsmouth have been using their acumen to help older people explore the world from the comfort of their armchairs.
The idea behind the project was to research how technology could help improve a business.
The second year students have been using laptops and Google Street View to show residents of Brendoncare around places of interest such as the Taj Mahal.
They have also helped the residents speak to their loved ones using video calling software.
Student Kimberley Marriott said: ‘We researched what other organisations have done and what was available.
‘Then we visited four care centres and tried out some different ideas with the residents.’
The students also presented a proposed IT strategy to Brendoncare.
