A NEW Twitter feed has been set up to ensure Hampshire residents can keep up to speed on the rollout of superfast broadband across the county.

A new website also features information for businesses and residents on programme phases and developments.

Leader of Hampshire County Council Councillor Roy Perry said: ‘The new website and Twitter account will provide residents with up-to-date news and information about the broadband programme.

‘They can keep track of when their area might be “switched on” and the benefits that superfast broadband can bring.

‘The rollout is a key part of the council’s long-term economic plan to secure Hampshire’s future by providing access to superfast broadband in areas that the private sector would not otherwise have reached.’

The programme aims to provide at least 95 per cent of all premises with superfast broadband by the end of 2017.
