Survey reveals retail make-up of town centres

A SURVEY has revealed a breakdown of the kind of shops in town centres.

A report by Havant Borough Council reveals Emsworth is dominated by independent shops – with 75 retailers (72 per cent of the total).

Leigh Park has 40 independents (47 per cent), Havant 103 (47 per cent) and Waterlooville 74 (38 per cent).

The survey showed Waterlooville had the most charity shops at 13.

Nine per cent of the shop units are vacant in Havant, around 10 per cent in Waterlooville, almost five per cent in Emsworth and 26 per cent in Leigh Park.
