A GOSPORT mum who set up her own baking business has won an award for her work.

Katie Fairhall, who runs Katie Bakes in Gosport, won a What’s On 4 national business award for Best Children’s Party Supplier.

Katie creates party bags for children to take home, with cookie mix inside.

She also puts cookie mixture into glass jars, which make ideal presents for youngsters.

She said: ‘Winning the award was really good, because it’s given us credibility with what we’re doing, especially because the award was voted for by the parents.’

Katie, a former commercial property surveyor, set her business up in 2010 and it’s going from strength to strength.

She said: ‘We supply national cookery schools who do kids’ party bags, and we’ve had lots and lots of interest in supplying other national companies.’
