ONE thing I love about my job is the social life it brings.

When you become self-employed, or a director of your own company, you suddenly fall into a world you never knew existed – the wonderful world of networking!

I have belonged to a few networking groups in the past but none has the unique and positive qualities of Biztastic Warsash.

Theresa Lawrie-Ashton is the mastermind behind Biztastic. As a qualified life coach she knows just how to handle all of us!

With a little help from Lesley Wrankmore (CMB Solent) and husband Graham Atkins (Doughtastic), she has created a free networking group to serve local businesses, that not only helps others find business success and friendship, but also ensures personal rewards for each person involved.

Along with the main networking group, Theresa set up smaller action groups of like-minded local business people to help us improve our businesses and become more confident when it comes to taking the plunge into our respective industries.

Theresa’s aim was
‘together we can make a difference’ and, not surprisingly, she was right.

In June this year we combined our unique skills to help raise money for Wave 105’s Cash For Kids charity. It’s because of Theresa that I dressed as Wonder Woman for the whole day in public, feeling empowered and inspired to achieve great things, even raising money for charity.

Together we raised a massive £175 for an amazing charity that helps change children’s lives.

Biztastic’s success shines proudly: Theresa is an inspiration to the businesses that attend the group, even more so now that Biztastic has very quickly moved to other areas of the county and even into Dorset.

With the help of some original Biztastic members, Sarah Clews now helps Theresa run the Portsmouth branch and Charmaine Midgley operates Christ-church with her too.

If you own your own business, and want to attend one of our expanding networking groups, then please head over to the Facebook group https://m.facebook.com/groups/663933483729948.
