TICKET sales are going well for a Christmas beer festival.

Around 100 different beers and cider will be on offer at Portsmouth Guildhall on December 20 to 21.

As reported, the organisers of the Victorious Festival, who held Portsmouth Beer Festival in May, are holding a festive version of the event.

Around 200 tickets were snapped up during the first week they went on sale last month and sales have been steady since.

But there’s still lots up for grabs.

James Ralls, festival co-organiser, said: ‘Ticket sales have gone really well and we are selling them quicker than the ones for the summer festival which was held at the same place.

‘So we are pleased with how things are going and we hope people will get in the Christmas spirit.

‘If Santa was at a beer festival then this would be the one he would go to.

‘This is what he would want.

‘We think everyone will have a great time and be relaxed because it’s near Christmas and some of them will have time off work.

‘We are busy getting the beers in place and contacting all of the breweries.’

Mulled wine and cider and other Christmas speciality drinks will be on offer.

There will be live music and an emphasis will be put on darker, winter beers.

Tickets are on sale at The Leopold Tavern, Little Johnny Russells, both in Albert Road, Southsea; Brewhouse & Kitchen, in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth; and The Belle Isle restaurants in Southsea and Chichester.

They can also be bought online at portsmouthguildhall.org.uk
