TICKETS are still available for a Christmas beer festival in Portsmouth this weekend.

Music will come from a range of acts including Mojo Dollar, The Elasticated Waste Band and singer songwriter Andy Muscat.

And hungry punters will be treated to a barbecue, hog roast and vegetarian dishes.

Ben Miles, festival co-organiser, said he cannot wait for it to go ahead and that a lot of work has gone into ensuring it is a success.

‘We are really looking forward to it now,’ he said.

‘Everyone has had a busy year and we are looking forward to having a few beers and letting our hair down and seeing everyone enjoy the Christmas spirit.

‘The craft beer market is massive now and more people are drinking micro-brewed beer.

‘It’s become more and more popular, especially with the younger age group which is great.

‘Beer festivals are just good old-fashioned fun.

‘It’s about great beer, great music and a great atmosphere – it’s a good formula.’

Proceeds are to be given to Tom Prince Cancer Trust and RNLI.

The event kicks off on Saturday from noon until 5pm and again from 6pm to 11pm.

A Sunday session will then be held from noon until 5pm.
