THE woman in charge of Fareham Shopping Centre has left her post, after having a minor accident outside work.

Pam Marsden has been director of the shopping centre for the past eight years.

During that time she has been in charge of a major refurbishment of the whole shopping centre, has overseen three changes of ownership, and masterminded the opening of its Debenhams department store last year.

She said: ‘It’s been a real privilege to steer the centre and its retailers who, in turn, have supported the community and local charities through events and promotions.

‘Now it’s time for pastures new.’

Pam has become known for championing the work of the Girl Guides, and also her support of Fareham in Bloom.

She has also encouraged green initiatives at the centre, and her swan-song will be the small and green motor show, coming to the centre on August 20.

A spokeswoman for the shopping centre said Pam’s replacement has yet to be confirmed.
