ADVICE is being given to people flying during the festive season.

Southampton Airport has released a series of tips to help people fly smoothly with the airline.

Passengers are being reminded that crackers are only allowed on Flybe flights and must be in a sealed box.

Christmas gifts such as perfume must be packed away and checked in as should other gifts that fall under the 100ml rule. Alcohol over 100ml should be checked in with the hold luggage.

Neil Gardwood, head of customer service, said: ‘We want our passengers to have a merry Christmas but we take safety and security very seriously.’
