AN Indian restaurant has been recognised for its achievements at an awards ceremony.

Kassia Indian Tapas, in Drayton, shone in the 2015 Curry Life Business Achievement Awards for being one of the best achievers in the country.

The restaurant is led by Red Lounge Group entrepreneur Fasu Miah and received the top award at a ceremony in London.

The London-based Curry Life Magazine organised the event, where 600 people celebrated the cream of British Asian businesses.

Awards were given to 16 Asian entrepreneurs from businesses across the UK, including Mr Miah from Red Lounge Group, at the ceremony held at the Park Plaza Riverbank London Hotel.

MP for Portsmouth North, Penny Mordaunt, who is also the Armed Forces Minister, was present at the ceremony to show her support.

Mr Miah, founder of Red Lounge Group and owner of Kassia Indian Tapas, said: ‘It was fantastic to be awarded in best-achieving restaurant category.

‘We were absolutely overjoyed to be named the best achiever in Restaurant Business alongside 16 businesses in the country.’
