A KEY appointment has been made at the National Air Traffic Service in Whiteley.

Catherine Mason will take up the role of managing director services on April 1.

With a turnover of £222m in 2012/13, NATS (Services) Limited includes managing its 15 contracts with airports in the UK and Gibraltar, as well as other business around the world.

Catherine joins NATS from Translink Group where she has been the group chief executive since 2008.

Richard Deakin, chief executive of NATS, which has its operations base in Swanwick, said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Catherine to NATS. She brings a wealth of commercial, transportation and logistics experience to the company. Succeeding Paul Reid, Catherine will add extra impetus to our already strong commercial growth strategy.’

Catherine added: ‘I am pleased to be joining NATS at this exciting time.’
