Hundreds of teams have been through The Real Escape’s doors since it opened in March to take on the brain-teasing challenges of the first room, the Chamber of the Deep.

Its popularity has even seen it short-listed for Leisure Venue of the Year in The News’ Retail and Leisure Awards, due to take place on September 17 at Portsmouth Guildhall.

The locked room game, in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, sees teams work together to solve baffling clues in a bid to find the key and open the door before time runs out.

Now customers old and new are invited back to the attraction to take on two new challenges which will open later this year.

The first, Dr Ryddle’s Memories, transports teams into the mind of one of the world’s greatest scientists and asks players to work out challenges and puzzles as they journey inside a ‘virtual reality’.

The second, Guardians of The Elixir, sees teams ‘take to outer space’ as they battle to free themselves from a ‘black hole’ at the centre of the Milky Way galaxy.

The two interactive rooms will open in the autumn, but bookings have already started as demand is expected to be high.

Andras Szabo, managing director of The Real Escape, said: ‘Since we opened our first room in March, we’ve been really pleased with the reaction.

‘Customers keep telling us that they loved the Chamber of the Deep and wanted to come back to take on a new challenge.

‘We can’t give away much about the new games but they are very different and we are very excited about opening them to the public.

‘Customers who have been to The Real Escape before will want to come back – and we’re looking forward to welcoming new guests too.’

The launch for Dr Ryddle’s Memories will be October 15, while The Guardians of the Elixir is due to launch on November 12.
