THE number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance across the area has fallen.
Out-of-work benefit claimants fell in Portsmouth from 3,670 in the first three months of the year to 3,060 in the last three months - representing a fall of 610 people.
Gosport saw a fall of 244 people to 782 while in Havant, the number of Jobseeker’s Allowance claimants fell by 339 to 1,454 people.
And in Fareham, the number went down from 713 to 554.
Nationally, UK unemployment fell by 121,000 to 2.12 million in three months to May.
