THE team behind the Langstone Technology Park are hoping their fundraising efforts will be a soaring success after organising a balloon launch.

The Fasset team were inspired by eight-year-old Hallie Scobie, who lost her dad to cancer two years ago, and who ran the 5km Race for Life on Sunday to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Members of Fasset ran the 10km race, raising £502, but also wanted to show their support with a balloon launch.

Organiser Emma Bray said: ‘I have known Hallie for many years and her amazing strength and personality is a true inspiration. She sent her balloon all the way up to her dad – I know he would be proud.

Cancer Research is an amazing charity and we hope that our fundraising can help make a difference to lives.’

One balloon was found in Guildford.
