PORTSMOUTH City Council is looking for volunteers to help get unemployed people back to work.

The Work and Learning Shop is a drop-in service which provides unemployed people with careers advice, and free access to the internet, phone, newspapers and support from volunteers.

Volunteers should be IT literate, have good English skills and interpersonal skills.

The Work and Learning shops run one day a week for five hours. Volunteers do not have to work a whole day but a minimum of two hours is required.

The shops will run in the city centre, North End and Paulsgrove and volunteers will be matched to a convenient place.

Call (023) 9284 1501 or email Linda.Taylor@portsmouthcc.gov.uk for information.
