PORTSMOUTH Water has pledged to donate money to local charities to celebrate winning an award.

The company was handed a gold award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents as part of its Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

Portsmouth Water has pledged to give £600 split between three charities, as nominated by employees.

They are Home Start Havant, The Rowans Hospice, and the Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre in Sidlesham.

Maggie Eveleigh, Home Start Scheme Co-ordinator, said: ‘I am delighted to receive the donation from Portsmouth Water, as this will help towards the support we give to families in the Havant Borough.’

The company said its pledge to help good causes reflected its local roots.
