A CARE home has been praised for the way it is run and the way it treats the residents.
Wellington Vale Care Home, in Waterlooville, has been rated good by the Care Quality Commission following an unannounced inspection.
Staff at the home, on Darnel Road, were seen to be kind to its residents who felt safe and well looked after.
The report, however, did mention staffing levels were of concern. But it added: ‘The home provided us with detailed examples of the work they had been doing to make improvements including the recruitment of additional staff.’
The inspector also found: ‘Staff knew each person well and had a good knowledge of the needs of people, especially those living with dementia.
‘Staff were patient and encouraged people to do what they could for themselves.
‘The general manager was approachable and understanding to both the people in the home and staff who supported them.’
