A BEER festival held over the bank holiday weekend has been hailed a success.

Pub customers sampled 13 different real ales and six ciders at The Junction Tavern, in Leesland Road, Gosport.

There was live music and drinks were served from barrels and boxes in the pub’s beer garden and pumps in the bar.

Brews came from The Oakleaf Brewing Company, in Mumby Road, Gosport, and Hammerpot Brewery in Arundel, as well as the Fallen Angel Brewery, in East Hoathly, East Sussex, and Blue Anchor Brewery, in Cornwall.

The boozer last held a beer bash in April. Barmaid Lucy Thomas, 20, said: ‘The beer festival went down really well. It always does.

‘It brought everyone together and it was nice to see locals sampling beers they wouldn’t normally try.

‘The atmosphere was fantastic. We hope to hold another beer festival in the near future.’
