MANY visitors to Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower have pointed down at the harbour and asked: ‘What’s that ship?’

But now help is at hand after the Tower launched its ‘High Spy’ interactive vessel locator.

For the first time, visitors to the popular attraction have access to a live electronic map showing the positions of ships and other vessels within approximately 23 miles of the Tower. Information available includes details of the name of the craft, its type, size, call sign, destination and estimated time of arrival.

Queen’s Harbour Master Commander Nigel Hare has backed the new technology, saying it adds ‘a whole new element’ to visitors’ experience up the 170ft landmark.
