Where's Beryl? Police seek to solve charity shop mystery

Where's Beryl? That's the mystery police are trying to solve.

Staff at the Rowan’s Hospice charity shop in New Parade, Portchester, were left bemused recently after finding a mysterious envelope hidden among a pile of donated items.

The envelope, addressed to a woman called ‘Beryl’, contained a letter written by her late sister.

But despite attempts from staff and the police to find Beryl - believed to be the woman who dropped off the possessions - their efforts have so far been unsuccessful.

The envelope is now being held at Fratton Police Station’s property office until the owner can be tracked down.

Police are now keen to Beryl to come forward and contact the station so she can be reunited with the letter.
