COMMUNICATIONS provider Onecom has signed a £1.7m agreement to provide business internet services.

The deal will see the firm connect a minimum of 150 business customers across a new high-speed broadband network in Essex.

Onecom, which is based in Whiteley, signed a commercial launch partner agreement with CityFibre, an operator of fibreoptic infrastructure.

The agreement makes Onecom one of the key internet service provider partners for CityFibre’s Southend-on-Sea network, which is currently under construction.

It is a significant agreement for Onecom, Vodafone UK’s biggest partner for business connections.
