WOMEN drivers picked up tips on how to stay calm at the wheel and how to protect themselves against road rage attacks at a free workshop.

More than 70 people attended a self-help course organised by Eden Fareham, a Vauxhall dealer.

The dealership wanted to make women more aware of how to protect themselves against the dangers they could face on the road.

Self-protection specialist Vic Botterill spoke about personal safety, Institute of Advanced Motorists specialist Mike Lyne spoke on how to deal with bullies and advanced driving specialists gave advice on courses.

Visitors were also shown how to change a wheel and routine car maintenance.
