THE launch of a new business group for women in Fareham was attended by the borough’s mayor.

Enterprising Women’s new Fareham business club met for the first time at the Red Lion Hotel, in East Street.

The club offers female entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet each month and build strong, local networks.

It is hoped members can share and learn from each other, as well as access the benefits from the national organisation.

Mayor Susan Bayford said: ‘I wish women’s business clubs like this existed when I was younger.

‘It’s quite inspiring to see so many ambitious professional women in Farehem. I am impressed.’

Bev Hurley CBE, founder of Enterprising Women, added: ‘We launched our community in 2006. This centred on the concept of building a supportive community, connecting, promoting and advancing women’s enterprise.

The next meeting will take place on Thursday, March 13 from 10.30am at the Red Lion Hotel.
