PROFESSIONAL people working in the Portsmouth area say they have a below-average work-life balance.

Research by workspace provider Regus, which has a base within the Lakeside North Harbour Business Park, has found the city scores 100 on the Work-Life Balance Index, when the national average is 109.

The firm also says 57 per cent of Portsmouth professionals say they enjoy work more than last year, compared to the UK average of 63 per cent.

In addition to this, only 60 per cent claim to achieve more at work than a year ago, a full 10 per cent less than the UK average.

John Spencer, UK CEO of Regus, said: ‘Mild improvements in the economy over the last year have fuelled workers’ sense of wellbeing on a national level but evidently Portsmouth’s workforce is still under particular pressure.’
