THREE young people enjoyed a day in the life of a busy apprentice at BAE Systems in Portsmouth,

Becca Ward, 23, Ed Haskell, 22, and Jim Snow, 20, spent a week in the apprentice training centre at Portsmouth Naval Base as part of a scheme with The Prince’s Trust.

The trio, who were given the opportunity to experience what it’s like to do an apprenticeship at BAE Systems, took part in a number of activities alongside the firm’s current cohort of craft apprentices.

Becca said: ‘This week has been totally different to what I expected. The apprentices get so much hands-on experience. It has actually inspired me to apply for an apprenticeship at BAE Systems.’
