Portsmouth should be the best city in the UK for cycling and pedestrians. Yet we play at it! There should be a cycle lane all along the seafront promenade, more cycle lanes, and more car-free seats. Visit Amsterdam or Heidelberg for classic pedestrian/cycle friendly cities.

What are the possibilities of waterbus services linking Old Portsmouth, Gunwharf, the Dockyard, Port Solent, Portchester Castle and possibly Ryde; especially in the summer. Instead of Park and Ride why not Park and boat. Free parking at a suitable location near Fareham Creek and waterbuses bringing people into Gunwharf.
