The company that runs Langstone Technology Park in Havant has scooped a contract in the Midlands which looks set to create jobs locally.
Commercial property operator Fasset, based at the 45-acre LTP site in Havant, has been appointed by optical technicians Bookham to manage laboratory and office space in Northampton.

Bookham Technologies' 22-acre site on the outskirts of the Midlan
ds town, which includes 170,000 sq ft of mixed office, manufacturing and lab space, will be rebranded Caswell Science and Technology Park.

Chris Allington and Gary Medlow, the managing directors of Fasset, said in a joint statement: 'The contract win may be for a site 120 miles away, but it is fantastic news for Fasset staff in Hampshire as it will hopefully lead to more support jobs being created.

'The deal with Bookham Technologies means we continue on our journey to manage five million sq ft on behalf of corporate occupiers.'

It is the third site to be taken on by Fasset, which is now expected to add to its 145-strong team to cope with the extra workload.

In addition to LTP and the newly-won Northampton site, Fasset also controls the 10-acre Hersham Place Technology Park near London.

Fasset manages the available space at the sites, and provides security, IT, cleaning and catering services to occupants.
