CARRIERS: Did you ever serve on board any of the light fleet carriers, HMS Bulwark, HMS Albion or HMS Centaur? Our association, the HMS Bulwark Albion Centaur Association, is open to anyone who served at any times on these ships. Although our 'home port' is Portsmouth, this year's AGM and Social were away from base at Sand Bay Leisure Resort, Kewstoke, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. We send a magazine three times per hear and have events including AGM/Socials, sea-days with our new ships and anniversary commemorations at home and abroad.

WASHINGTON ROAD SCHOOL, EMSWORTH, celebrates 100 years this year. Did you go to this junior school? If so, do you have old school photos you'd be prepared to have copied or memorabilia you would loan to the current occupiers, Glenwood School? We're celebrating the Centenary with an Edwardian Fayre on September 19 2009. We'll have displays of old photographs, a horticultural show and many other attractions, but we need your memories. HOWNAM/HOUNHAM: I am searching for my dad. His name is or was Alan Hownam or Hounham. He was from County Durham and worked as a male nurse at Grange-over-Sands in 1938. When war broke out he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and was on the beaches at Dunkirk as an acting captain. I last saw him in 1951 when I was three and he was still in the army. His mother and family moved to Richmond in North Yorkshire in the 50s. I have tried various archives in Durham but with no luck. This is a shot in the dark really but you never know!

DOREY: I am hoping to make contact with descendants of Richard Cyril Dorey born in Gosport in January 1914. I think he married Kathleen Eaton and had two daughters – Pamela (born 1936) and Myra (born 1937) all in the Gosport/Fareham area. He also had a brother William Henry Dorey born in 1912. I am tracing my family history and it would be wonderful to make contact with anyone who is related, however distantly, or knows someone connected.
