Stephen’s passing

On this day in 1963 photographer and former chairman of Portsmouth Football Club, Stephen Cribb, was buried following a service at St Peter’s Church, Somers Road.

Cribb started his photographic career in 1893 and became the club’s official photographer, but is best known for his naval photographs which were reproduced in publications worldwide – from John Sadden’s The Portsmouth Book of Days.
