MEET Disney's latest star – a Gosport schoolboy who beat hundreds of hopefuls to land a role as a cartoon character.
Nine-year-old Max Davis landed a lead role in a live action remake of a hit children's cartoon, Phineas and Ferb.
The one-off episode, which uses real actors in place of the animated regulars, will be screened in Sweden and could be shown in other countries if it is a hit.
Max, a pupil at Leesland Junior School, auditioned for the show in London in July – and got a phone call the very next day to say he had won the role.
Phineas and Ferb tells the story of two stepbrothers who get into hilarious scrapes while left home alone in the summer holidays.
Max, of Park Road, Gosport, had to be covered head to toe in green paint and have his hair dyed and spiked to play the part of Ferb, one of the brothers.
He said: 'When I heard I'd got the part it made me feel I was king of the world. I thought great, I'm going to be on television.
'It was really cool, all we needed to do was dance around.
'Just having fun was the best thing about doing the show. It was funny dressing up in all green,' said Max, who goes to Toppers Theatre School in Gosport.
'Everyone is talking about it at school – Phineas and Ferb is really popular and everyone thinks it's really cool.
'I'd like to do a movie next, I just love acting. I'd encourage anyone to join a theatre school, it's really fun and you make lots of friends.
'I'm never going to quit acting because I love it so much.'
Max took part in a day's filming on location in London, which began and at 9am and finished at 6pm.
In his big scene, Max will be seen playing in Phineas and Ferb's garden during a house party.
Max's mum Hayley Davis, 31, said: 'He did so well. He had a lot of lines but as soon as he received them his head was stuck in the script for days. It comes easy to him.'
