Acid-tongued comedian Jo Caulfield has promised to be as bitchy as ever when she takes centre stage in Southsea on Sunday.
The 42-year-old, will be making a return visit to the area this weekend and says she's looking forward to unleashing her particular brand of comedy on the city.
'I've been to Southsea a few times in the past year or so,' she says.
'I think the Black Cat Comedy Club is brilliant and I love the Alma Arms in Highland Road.
'You get lots of feedback from the crowd. Portsmouth audiences are very funny and quick-witted.'
You'll probably recognise Jo's face from all the times she's been a regular guest on Have I Got News For You and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. And you'll probably know her voice from the radio work she does – she's currently working on the fourth series of her own show on Radio Four called It's That Jo Caulfield Again.
But it's her stand-up work that has really helped her carve out a name for herself.
Jo's unashamedly bitchy and is never short of a thing or two to say about those in the public eye – which means her show promises to be a lively affair.
'My humour involves a lot of bitching,' she adds. 'I rant about anything that bugs me really. I think things that annoy you can be very funny, such as bad service – the sort of things everybody gets het up about.'
Jo will be at the Black Cat Comedy Club at The Raglan Rooms in The Alma Arms, Southsea, on Sunday. Tickets cost £5 in advance. Doors open at 7.30pm.
For information and tickets, call 07900 012 479 or go to www.blackcatcomedy.com
