It all started in 2006, at the beginning of the summer, just down the road in Southampton as a bunch of ska and punk fans got together.

Between them, the members of Kids Can't Fly already had a wealth of experience, members having appeared in Zero Consent, Schoolboy Error, Toupé and After Thought among other established ska-punk bands.

With such a wealth of knowledge to draw on the songs soon flowed, built around a rock solid rhythm section and propelled by jagged-edged bass.

Soon enough support slots alongside the likes of Zebrahead, The Misfits, The Toasters and others attracted a loyal local following as well as allowing them to hone their live performances.

* Kids Can't Fly are at The Cellars at Eastney on Friday. Tickets from (023) 9282-6249 (2pm-6pm) and online at www.stiffpromotions.co.uk and www.ticketweb.co.uk.
