Ventriloquist and comedienne Nina Conti will be bringing her unique style and her spirited friends for a show at Ashcroft Arts Centre, Fareham.

Following a critically-acclaimed season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007, Nina and her pal Monkey are touring the UK with their debut full-length show.

The comedy duo also recently enjoyed a stint in Hollywood, where they appeared in Christopher Guest's movie For Your Consideration.

The touring show is a hotch potch of stand-up, sketches and variety, all of which rely heavily on the use of ventriloquism with Monkey as ringmaster putting Nina through her paces with a host of different puppets and a host of different puppeteers, all played by Nina.

The characters range from her own Grandad, who uses ventriloquism to talk to his dead wife, to a one-armed South African voodoo expert with a talking penis.

On television she has appeared in many shows including Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Take Away (ITV1), Bromwell High (Channel 4), Blunder (Channel 4) and as Dylan Moran's girlfriend in Black Books (Channel 4).

She'll be in Fareham on Wednesday. Tickets and details are available on 01329 223100.
