BOOKS were a right royal hit in the King family household as siblings joined thousands of others in a summer reading challenge.
Stafford King, 10, and his younger sister, Brodie, seven, were already regular visitors to Fareham library. But they've been going more frequently over the summer break to take part and complete the Team Read Summer Reading Challenge.

Every child in Hampshire and Portsmouth who read six library books gets a gold medal and a certificate.

And it's not too late to take part and finish the challenge, which doesn't end until September 13.

The King siblings have done their bit.

Stafford, who like his sister is a pupil at Harrison Primary School, Fareham, said: 'I just enjoy it. It's better than watching TV because with with a book you can use your imagination to see the pictures in your mind.'

Mum Sally King, 45, of Heathfield Avenue, Fareham, said: 'We go to the library every week and because the challenge is done through the library we've enjoyed going in to get new books.'
